what happened to the Hero?

The blade sank into his chest.
She coughed, clutching her throat for a moment.
Blood was flowing between her fingers, from the wound on his head. It dripped from her hands to the white floor, creating a pattern that might have looked beautiful at another time.
“I remember every word you said to me” she hissed
“From the moment I saw you I knew you were a liar!”
She didn't even know where or how she got that vase.
“Do you know what Aurora said when I told her what you’d done? She said, 'You're picking on a fool.' But I knew. Oh, I knew. This one is no fool.” She repeated over and over, waiting for his gaze to fade for good.
The makeshift blade continued to strike his chest until heavy hands grabbed her shoulders. Her dark hair obscured her vision as someone lifted her up and wiped the blood from her hands. Across the room, only a single doctor bothered to approach the body on the floor.
Someone must have told them what he was planning.
Only then did she feel the pain, too; she had been hit by something that would have killed her if she had been even a little closer. "You did good. You did really good”, distant voices echoed. And she knew it perfectly. But as a low moan of pain escaped her lips, the lone doctor abandoned the boy's corpse and rushed to her side. “Breathe. You'll be as good as new in no time.”
So she breathed, and everything went dark.
